How to be an effective team player

To be an effective team player you must acknowledge that there is no “I” in team. Part of being prosperous at work is learning to work along with your coworkers and demonstrate that you are a respected part of the team. Demonstrating that you have good intrapersonal skills will help you to build a trusted relationship with your coworkers and showcase to your boss that you are responsible.

Here are some tips to help you:

  • Reliability– being part of a team is indicating that you are trustworthy. Reach to work before your boss; be at the door waiting for him/her to open the door. Always meet project deadlines.
  • Interact with your coworkers- Getting acquainted will help to build a good relationship. There needs to be active communication, when there is communication you can lend a helping hand to a coworker that might be falling back. Remember that each employee   forms part of the chain reaction in the business. Everything needs to be link together for productivity to be efficient.
  • Be flexible- when you impart that you have the potential to be flexible it shows your devotedness to do what is superlative for the team.
  • Lend a helping hand– Provide a coworker profitable suggestions for problems with clients or projects. Share your abilities and agilities; do so to produce constructive results, instead of exhibiting superiority, this will make you a valuable, trustworthy team player.
