“If you want total security, go to prison. There you’re fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking… is freedom.” ~Dwight D. Eisenhower~
Freedom is such a great gift, that although being civilized we cannot comprehend it until we live in an age of high technologies. Our day depends on how the alarm clock will ring, how coffee machine will make our morning coffee, how smoothing iron will iron the blouse, how fast our car will drive us to office and how fast our PC will load and so on. Using of all these objects of human progress make us dependent.
So many people a pretending to be free, they say what they want even though their words hurt, they make the bodies they want to have by the means of modern plastic surgery, cosmetics and so on, they want to differ from each other, but get into a crowd of freaks, they say they are free, but their freedom releases them just from responsibility and strong moral principles, they say they are free, but they can’t live at least without electricity. We are all living in a prison, and we like it, because we have all the necessary things around us, that facilitate our dwelling on the Earth, and our comfort consist in them.
The most wonderful birds are wild and free, they sing only being free and only willing to sing, this is freedom: creating the song of your life, willing to die for it. The wisest men are independent from any folk, from any laws, from any facilities offered to them in order to serve somebody. A free man does not despise hard life and hard existence; because he has a hard core that keeps his back straight and nothing can make him go against his principles. Absolute freedom is loneliness, and nobody is free while he lives for somebody, while he is ready to sacrifice himself for somebody, while he cares for somebody.
